About Our School

Mount Michael Benedictine High School was created for the purpose of helping to shape young men. We truly believe in our mission, trusting that the surest - perhaps the only - way to change the world is to work through our youth.

National Science BowlAcademics
During his teenage years it is important that a young man concentrate on his education. This, then, provides the focus for Mount Michael's program. We offer an unsurpassed academic experience for students, challenging them with a fast-paced college-preparatory curriculum that rates amongst the best schools in the nation. Our program is designed to provide students with the structure and discipline they will need to succeed in college and the workplace.

ActivitiesInto the Woods
School work is not the only area in which young men must learn and grow, however. We offer complete programs in athletics and in the performing arts in order to augment the learning that our students do inside the classroom. Our small size allows each student to participate in a broader range of activities than he might find at a larger school - indeed, our ability to offer such a wide spectrum of activities speaks to the kind of student who chooses Mount Michael, since we could not sustain them without the enthusiastic support of our student body.

Living With Others
Hanging OutWhile our programs - academic, athletic, artistic - provide a framework for comparing Mount Michael with other schools, what really sets our school apart is its ability to reinforce the character traits our families seek to instill in their sons. The small size of our community strengthens the bonds students form with one another, so that they learn not just to get along with, but to support and encourage friends who have widely varying interests and abilities. Their experiences here reinforce the need for mutual respect, for the humility to find dignity even in the most mundane tasks, and for the importance of behaving with honor at all times.

We are very proud of our work, and of the young men that have graduated from our school. We invite you to learn more by continuing to explore this site, or by calling to arrange a personal visit from a Mount Michael representative. We look forward to hearing from you.
