Five-Day
Boarding Program
Mount
Michael's five-day boarding programming is often referred to as
"the best of both worlds". Students enjoy the fun of dorm
life during the week and the comfort and closeness of being with
their families every weekend.
By
living together during the week, students form a close-knit community.
Because they have time to spend together, students learn a lot about
their classmates. They learn even more about themselves.
Day
Program
Mount
Michael's day program offers a family the opportunity to have their
son participate in the academics, athletics and the overall experience
without staying the night.
In
general, day students will arrive on campus around 7:30 a.m. and
will usually leave campus around 5:30 p.m. As a freshman, all students
are required to play a fall and spring sport. The typical school
day ends at 3:20 p.m. with sports practice usually concluding at
5 or 5:30 p.m.
Day
students and their families are encouraged to participate in the
rich community life that Mount Michael is known for. On most Wednesday
evenings, day students and their families are encouraged to participate
in Wednesday night visits. From about 6:00 p.m. to 7:25 p.m. Mount
Michael families, friends and girlfriends enjoy a night of community
in the Armory or on the grounds in front. Day students are encouraged
to parcipate in numerous activities including intramurals, plays,
concerts and attending sporting events.
In
addition, a main component of the boarding program is the evening
study hall from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. In order to help the student succeed
academically at Mount Michael, families are encouraged to duplicate
this study hall in their homes.
