As a librarian I'm frequently asked for recommendations for good books to read. I'm a bit of a picky reader and can't just pick up any book and be satisfied. So the books I review here are only the books I consider to be be outstanding.
I like a lot of realistic fiction, biographies, classics and non-fiction but I have science fiction and fantasy favorites also.

I'm not going to review some obvious favorites like the Harry Potter series and famous authors like Stephen King, and Tom Clancy everyone should be familiar with those. Rather I want to share good books both old and new that perhaps readers are not as familiar with.
When possible I include links to additional reviews for the books I'm recommending and the author's website so you can discern even more if that book is for you.

Happy Reading, Bro. Luke

Other Books I highly recommend but don't have time to review: (no particular order)
Colors of the Mountain, Coming out of the Ice, Out of the Silent Planet (Fantasy), The Secret life of Bees, Plain Song, Giants of the Earth, A Canticle for Leibowitz (Science Fiction), The Accidental Tourist, A Prayer for the Dying, The Shoes of the Fisherman, Old School, Lost Horizons,
