On Saturday April 12,
the sophomores, juniors, and seniors gathered at the College of
St. Mary's for "A Knight on the Town". The students and
their dates were greeted at the door by Mr. Furlong, and were treated
to a night of music and dancing.
Providing the music were two guest
DJ's-senior Tim Hall's brother and ex-Mount Michael student Jeremy Hall. The
dance started at nine and went all the way until
midnight. Everyone danced throughout the night and had a wonderful time. At ten
thirty, the intensely anticipated royalty was announced. Ron Kmiecik was given
the title of Duke, or sophomore royalty. Greg Hall was given the honor of Prince
for the junior
class. And finally, Pat Cambell recieved the crown as Prom King for the senior
class. After the King, Prince, and Duke were announced, a song
was played for them and their dates. Though the dancing was constant, some people
went for fresh air out on the balcony or opted to make use of the provided refreshments.
The dance officially ended at midnight,
but the party did not stop there. Everyone left for Mockingbird Lanes where Post
Prom was being held. At post prom, which
stretched from one o'clock all the way until five in the morning, there was karaoke,
bowling, food, and even more fun. Everyone from the sophomores at their first
prom, to the seniors at their last, thoroughly enjoyed the night. -Article
