The
Knights are back at it again. On Wednesday August 20th, the student
body packed the chapel with more students then ever before.
The chapel was full of new faces. Including new school president
Abbot Raphael, who said the mass to kick off the new school year.
Abbot Raphael began his homily by speaking of a cruise that he won.
At one of his stops on the cruise he observed seaman harvesting pearls.
He asked them how pearls were made and the seaman explained that
the sand that gets in oysters will agitate the oysters and eventually
turn them in to something beautiful. He explained this because something
that went through so much agitation turned into something beautiful.
He expressed that even though the students at Mount Michael may be
frustrated with their teachers, coaches, or parents when they are
hard on them, it only makes them “new pearls.” He explained
that every endeavor is making the students stronger and wiser. He
went on to say that through all of the challenges and agitations
the students under go at Mount Michael, that they will only develop
the students into the men they hope to become. - Matt Haas |
