| The
student council has a whole new look and a whole new plan. This
year they have a new idea for a committee for each of the major
concerns the school faces. Some people will be talking to Mr. Spenner
for food issues and ideas. Some people will be talking to Mr. Ridder
for daytime concerns, and others will be talking to Mr. Lewis for
the maintenance issues.
One of the items the student
council will be looking into this year is student involvement. President
Greg Hall said “I would like to see students get more involved
in student council. You hear them complain about not having this
or whatever, but they don’t say anything to the representatives.”
Hall also said that they have a lot of ideas for different activities.
Sophomore president Mark Tosone said that he would like to see a
merit system put into effect. He feels that we only get punished
for the bad things that we do and never anything for the good things
that we do. Tosone would also like for the students to be able to
have wireless internet in their rooms.
All of the members agreed
that this year will be a good year for the students if they get
involved. Sophomore vice president Phil Schulte
said “I hope the student council will be able to help the
school as much as possible.” The new student council members
consist of Greg Hall as the president and Abiola Kosoko as the co-president.
John Pieper was voted in as the senior president with Seth Evert
as the vice president. Alex McKnight was chosen to be the junior
president along with John Behrendt as the vice president. Mark Tosone
is once again the sophomore president with Phil Schulte again as
the vice president. Dylan Parlor was newly chosen as the freshman
president working along side Chris Antonelli as the vice president.
