After a triumphant 67-42 win over the Tekamah Tigers last Friday,
the Knights celebrated their victory with a dance held in the armory.
The dance was hosted by the National Honor Society, Fr. Louis,
the leader of the NHS chapter at Mount Michael commented on the
success
of the dance saying “It went well”. The DJ of the dance
was Mount Michael alum Tim Hall who just graduated from the Mount
last spring.
After the game many excited students gathered outside the Armory,
waiting anxiously in anticipation for the doors to open and a chance
to dance the night away. The dance had a slow start with only a
handful of freshmen and their female guests, but soon more sophomores
and
upperclassmen poured into the Armory to dance it up and help show
their support for the National Honor Society. Erika Goldsmith,
a freshman at Skutt Catholic High School said “It was a really
great time, I had a great time with my friends, and the music wasn’t
bad either.” The dance featured an assortment of music, from
rock n’roll to rap, from hip hop to pop. With DJ Hall taking
requests, students had a chance to show their skills as they danced
to their favorite songs. Sam Weitkemper, a sophomore, shared his
thoughts on the dance “It was a lot of fun, it was a really
good way to end the night after an amazing basketball game, the music
was great and I’m really looking forward to the next one.” Despite
a slow start, the NHS hosted another great Mount Michael dance.
