Alumni Share Experiences with Students

The study hall bell rang at 7:30 on October 12 as usual. Students, however, gathered together in the chapel for Career Night instead of going to their rooms as usual. After Fr. Stephen’s brief introduction about the Career Night, students scattered all over the school to participate in the Career Night programs they were interested in. The program offered a total of twelve different fields, including FBI, accounting, Mount Michael related careers, Medicine, dentistry, law, religious vocations, education, engineering, entrepreneurship, and computer science. Most of lecturers were Mount Michael graduates or current Mount Michael staff.

Each student went to three lectures. According to sophomore Ricky Cheng, out of the presentations he attended he liked computer science the best, because he likes playing computer games and he found how those computer programs are made and designed specifically. Guy Weinstein, also a sophomore, said “It was cool! It was nice to have good examples so that we can learn what a career is all about". Seeon Lee said enthusiastically after the Career Night, “I went to education, law, and business and law was the most interesting. Mr. Levy, currently a law student at Creighton Law School, was very friendly and helpful in explaining the law career. I think it was great idea to have Mount Michael graduates out here since they had gone through this.”

It was a good experience for all Mount Michael students to have some examples of what we might want to pursue as careers.
