This
year’s grandparent’s night was a great success. With the
new freshman there were many new smiling grandparents, being shown
around the school by there grandsons. This year there were several
speakers. The first speaker was Father Richard. He welcomed us once
again to Grandparents night. Father Richard then welcomed Al Mcknight.
Al Mcknight gave us a good rundown of the past few grandparents’
nights that he was at. He in turn welcomed our principal Mr. Ridder
who told our grandparents what a good group of kids we are and told
them that we are among the top kids in Nebraska. Mr. Ridder also stated
that we are the best bunch of kids that he has ever worked with. Mr.
Ridder then invited Ron Kmeick, to speak on his experiences of grandparent’s
night. Ron shared with us a very heart warming story on his experiences
with his grand father. He told us that our grand parents are one of
the best things that could happen to us. After he was done talking
Al Mcknight presented to the audience the choir. The choir sang two
very nice songs one titled “Toot Toot Tootsie” and the
other was “An Unchained Melody”. After the songs had been
sung the students showed there grandparents around. After that there
was a short prayer service led by Father Richard. Then the students
and there grandparents said goodbye. - Article by Stefan Sawtelle
