Mount
Michael was infested by some very crazy or just loud characters on
the night of the annual Halloween dance. There were cowboys, cowgirls,
angels, doctors and even a few dice. Sophomore assistant Dean Mr.
Crawford said “Seeing how you guys dressed makes me wonder how
we have the highest ACT scores in the state every year.” Sophomore
Steve Eldred, who dressed up as Democratic Presidential Candidate
Sen. John F. Kerry, said as a joke, “Don’t
vote for me!” At the end of the night there was a costume contest,
and there was some stiff competition. There had to be a winner, one
winner. The best male went to a jockey, and best female was a nurse.
The last two were for best couple, and for best group. The couple
was a set of priests, and the group was a set of three beekeepers.
Other costumes that could have contended for the prize were some juniors
as power rangers, an angel, Cher, and a teenage mutant ninja turtle.
Two sophomores went as girls, and a junior was a cowgirl. Ricky Chang,
a sophomore, said, “There were not enough girls for me.”
John Dewald said “It was cool to see everyone’s costume,
but next year it would be better if they have it when more girls could
come, a Friday or Saturday.” A special thanks to the parents
and the student council for supplying the smorgasbord. - Photos
