This
past Sunday, new National Honor Society (NHS) candidates, current
NHS members, faculty members,
and parents gathered in the chapel for the annual NHS induction
ceremony.
The event started as all candidates
were recognized and honored for their acceptance into NHS. After
this, Father Louis and NHS president Mike Pick talked about the
history of NHS at Mount Michael, and the purpose of NHS in our
community.
After this introduction, senior National
Honor Society members Chris Gamm, Dan Gard, Greg Hall, and Pat
Tefft spoke in regards to the responsibilities of NHS members to live
the values of leadership, scholarship, character, and service.
The main part of the ceremony was
next, as all new inductees pledged to uphold NHS and received their
membership certificates. The junior and senior NHS members then
renewed their pledges. Fr. Louis ended the evening with a blessing
and students and parents were dismissed to the dining room for refreshments.
The induction ceremony was a nice
way to recognize the achievements of the NHS members and left
everyone
with a feeling of success and achievement. Article by Sam Weitkemper
