Knights Recognized for Academics

    Congratulations to Andrew Huss and Bennett Swiniarski on recently being honored by the Omaha World Herald for their outstanding academics.

    The World Herald annually honors the "very best" high school seniors. The All-Academic Team is selected by a panel of distinguished educators.

    Mount Michael's Bennett Swiniarski was named to the Regional All-Academic team representing the Metro Area.

     Bennett is the son of Joseph and Catherine Swiniarski. He ranks second in his class and had a 35 on the ACT and 1530 on the SAT. He was a National Merit finalist and Hugh O'Brian representative He participated in math contests, chorus, football, cross-country and soccer. He plans to major in chemical engineering at Iowa State.

    Andrew Huss likewise was named to the Regional All-Academic Team He was also named to the "All-State Academic Team". As an "All State Team Member", Huss is recognized as being one of the top students in the state.

    Andrew is the son of Michael and Peg Huss and the late Marcia Huss. He is ranked first in his class and scored a 35 on the ACT and a 1540 on the SAT. He was a National Merit finalist and served as vice president and treasurer of the National Honor Society. He participated in speech, band, chorus, soccer and tennis and competed in math and science competitions. He plans to major in electrical engineering and French at Rice.

    The All Academic Team will be featured in the Sunday World Herald on May 9th.
