This
year at Mount Michael has been a fun and fulfilling experience for
the students and faculty. Now as the year is winding down the students
and faculty are ready for a nice, long break. This summer will be
a much needed hiatus for all of us at the Mount.
Last weekend the Senior class graduated
from the Mount. Mount Michael will miss all the great things the
class of 2004 gave to the school. The seniors all had a great time
at the Mount over the years and some wished they could stay. However,
as they move onto their new findings in the world they will be well
ready for anything that comes their way with what was given to them
at Mount Michael.
So
far this year we have seen great challenges in all the classes.
These challenges are what make Mount Michael what it is. With the
graduation of a great class last weekend, this years juniors are
preparing to become the school's leaders next year. The juniors
are just completing one of their toughest years here at the Mount.
"I came into this year expecting the worst, and that's what
I got...it's been a long year," said junior Joe Michaelson.
All the juniors pretty much have the same feelings, they are ready
to move onto their last year at the Mount. They are all, also, very
excited to lead the school (this can be seen in their "‘05!"
chants down the halls). As the Junior class prepares to become the
"top guns" of the school, the Sophomore class is ready
to move onto the dreaded Junior year.
The Sophomores this year have the
biggest class yet to make it the Junior year. In addition to the
biggest class, the sophomores are also the first class to have the
Day Student program added to it. So far they are handling it well.
"These past years have been something else, but all in all
it has made me a better person," said Phil Schulte, "I
am, however, ready to get onto Junior year and learn about Physics,
History, and other exciting things!" As Schulte stated this
in a very excited way not all sophomores are looking forward to
it in this manner. The sophomore class has had two years full of
hardships and triumphs. These can be seen in the manner of how the
class has come together, always there for each other. "If I
need some help with homework, or just need someone to talk to I
can turn to my classmates...that's truly my favorite part about
Mount Michael," said sophomore Tom Hickman, "it is really
unique out here." All in all the Sophomore class is ready to
move on, as are the Freshmen.
The Freshmen are one of the most
ready classes to move on. They are all ready to get out of the dorm
and into their own rooms. The Freshmen also have several day students
in the class, and they are all doing as well as the rest. Freshmen
is one of the toughest years out at the Mount because of the living
situation and new environment. "This year has been a tough
one, with all the homework and then having to sleep with 50 other
guys in the same room makes for a long year," said freshman
Dylan Parler. Parler speaks on behalf of all the freshmen boarders.
As the year comes to an end, it
is only appropriate to say that this was one of the best years seen
at Mount Michael. With the graduation of incredible seniors and
the achievements seen through the sports and academics, it can be
said that this has been a great year.
