Slide Show

The 14th Annual Mount Michael Golf Classic, held Friday, June 4, 2004 at the Players Club, raised $27,000 for the Mount Michael Alumni Association.
Kevin Clanton, Mount Michael Benedictine Class of ’99, chaired the event.

Other committee members were Scott Gass, MM ’77, Rob Copenhaver ’77, Keith Allerton, Brother James Pope, O.S.B. and Janet Griffin.

Golf Classic Champions were: Tim Fitzgibbons, Jim Killips, Ken Ferrarini and John Fullenkamp. The co-ed flight winners were: Ross Crist, Lisa Crist, Brian Slone and Leslie Slone.

The tournament was played in memory of D.J. Sokol, Mount Michael Benedictine Class of ’99 and was sponsored by the Mount Michael Alumni Association and Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.

The day was perfect with no wind, bright sunshine and temperatures in the 70’s. The day started with a prayer from Abbot Raphael Walsh on the putting green and a few words from Kevin Clanton about his classmate D.J. Sokol. Class of ’99 golfers were outfitted in special blue golf shirts.

Golfers enjoyed 18 holes of golf on the challenging course, with complimentary margaritas on the clubhouse patio and MM parent, Jim Clark, grilling hamburgers and hot dogs on the course all day long.

Participants also enjoyed a buffet dinner in the clubhouse following the tournament. An oral auction raised an additional $2,000 for the event.
