Halloween
Freaky Freshmen     Generally, the Mount Michael Armory is a normal place. Normal humans go about their business playing pool and watching television. On the night of October 27th, however, the Armory played host to everything from Santa and his helpers to two giant bananas to a whoopee cushion.

Balloons, refreshments, costumes, a DJ, and loud music all combined to make the Mount Michael Halloween Dance a time to remember.

To Much Stress!      The evening started out a bit slowly at 7 p.m. as Mount Michael students loitered around outside of the armory, waiting for their dates to arrive and comparing costumes. Within 20 minutes, the party began to come alive and the dancing and revelry began.

The only mishap that threatened to dampen the spirit of the evening was the accidental destruction of two of the large music speakers. While the music was a bit quieter in the evening, it still provided a dance beat that galvanized the partygoers to dance together.

After a solid hour of dancing, senior Reid Anderson called everyone to the “DJ station” (also known as the candy store) and began the process of selecting the best costumes.

Kisses $1.00      There were four categories of costume: Best Male costume, Best Female costume, Best Duo and Best Group. The voting began on the Best Male costume. Among the nominees were senior Matt Goldsmith as “God’s gift to women,” senior James Kritenbrink as “The Bed Fixer”, and junior Chris Antonelli as a chimneysweep. After the crowd voted by yelling, Kritenbrink was declared this year’s male winner. The Best Female costume went to Erika Goldsmith as an angel. Best Duo was awarded to seniors Andy Ciaccio and Sean Cox as Ace and Gary, The Ambiguously Gay Duo. In the group competition, senior Cole Bunner as Santa and his senior helpers upset James Clark, August Van Osch, Tom Hickman and other seniors, who appeared as The Chippendales Dancers, for the group title.

This year’s Mount Michael Halloween Dance was a great time for all in attendance and set the bar high for next year.
