Pippin a Great Success
After 111 hours of dedicated rehearsal, the cast and crew of the Mount Michael fall musical, Pippin, saw their hard work pay off as the play debuted November 4, 5 and 6.

Pippin follows the journey of Pippin the son of Charlemagne as he searches for true happiness, an extraordinary life and self-worth while immersing himself in a world of shady characters who offer him happiness in various temporary forms. In the finale, Pippin is offered one last chance of immediate but passing happiness but he instead chooses the ordinary life of simple happiness he has accepted as reality.

The production involved a crew of 13 and a cast of over 35 actors and featured Zach Lage as Pippin, Michael Gibilisco as Charlemagne, Dan Whitaker and Sam Lathrop as the good and evil players, Mallory Freilich as Catherine, Reid Anderson as Lewis and Kathryn Walsh as Berthe just to name a few. Direction and choreography were tackled by freshman dean and drama teacher Mark Robinson while Marilynn Theis directed the music.

The Musical enjoyed great success as over 480 tickets were sold. Junior Nick Michalak said, “I think we did really well this weekend. I really enjoyed the experience.”

Several of the cast members felt that this play went very well despite its difficult music and choreography.
