Weather Doesn't Deter Fun
As the first signs of winter grace Mt. Michael in the forms of endless snowfall, ice-paved walkways and seemingly untamable cold, the final sign that winter is upon us is the annual winter formal, Snowball.
“With more than 50 guys showing up I think it was quite an improvement from previous years. The music was great and everyone seemed to be having a good time,” commented senior Tom Hickman. Students and their guests started arriving around 9 o’clock and continued Snowball Coupleto pour in as the night went on. “I got to the dance around 9:30 but the festivities started much earlier,” said senior Mike Gibilisco. Even the bad weather couldn’t stop the students from having a good time and dancing the night away to songs like “Shout” and the infamous “Cha-Cha Slide.” The music this year was provided by an Omaha DJ and it featured a plethora of genres from country to techno.
As midnight grew nearer and the dance was concluding, students and their dates started calling it a night and headed home. Guy Weinstein shared his thoughts on Snowball 2005 saying, “This was my third year attending snowball and I would have to say it was the best yet. I’d like to thank Mr. Robinson, the chaperones and the Mother’s Club for making it such a special night,”
