MICHAEL BENEDICTINE SCHOOL ADVANCED PLACEMENT SCHOLARS

Nine
students at Mount Michael Benedictine School have been named
AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional
achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations.
The College Board’s Advanced Placement Programs offer
students the opportunity to take challenging college-level
courses while still in high school, and to receive college
credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance
on the AP Exams. About 18 percent of the more than one
million high school students in more than 15,000 secondary
schools worldwide who took the AP Exams performed at a sufficiently
high level to merit the recognition of AP Scholar.
The College Board
recognizes several levels of achievement – the AP Scholar,
the AP Scholar with Honors and the AP Scholar with Distinction.
Brent Lockee, son
of Dr. and Mrs. Brad Lockee of Omaha and Lance Villeneuve,
son of Mr. and Mrs Maurice Villeneuve of Breda, IA, qualified
for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award. Brent Lockee earned
a grade 5 on six of the AP Exams taken and Lance Villeneuve
earned the grades of 4 and 5 on six Exams taken.
Thomas (Alex) McKnight,
son of Dr. Thomas and Dr. Evelyn McKnight of Fremont and Matthew
O’Gara, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry O’Gara of Omaha,
qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award. Alex McKnight
earned grades of 3, 4, and 5 on four of the AP Exams taken
and Matt O’Gara, earned two grades of 5; 3 grades of
4 and a grade of 3 on six Exams.
Steven Christenson,
son of Kent Christensen and Robyn Christensen of Omaha, Ben
Hankey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hankey of Omaha, Scott Lindgren,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Lindgren of Lincoln, David Nelson,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Nelson of Omaha and Steven Stackhouse,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stackhouse of Missouri qualified for
the AP Scholar Award by completing in 3 or more AP Exams,
with grades of 3 or higher.

we congratulate these young men on their fine achievements.
