The Mount Enjoys a Pleasant Evening
Shared Between
Grandparents & Grandsons

Grandparents Night is always a most enjoyable evening for all involved and this year was no different. The night began with everyone gathering in the gymnasium, where Fr. Richard Thell OSB led the gathering in an opening prayer. Student body President Nick Hall then welcomed the guests and introduced Mount Michael principal Tom Ridder. Mr. Ridder’s brief remarks reflected on the great value & importance of grandparents’ knowledge, experience and life lessons that they share with their grandchildren.

Following Mr. Ridder’s remarks were a few words by senior Dylan Parlor. Dylan spoke of his fond memories of his grandparents sharing their wisdom, heritage, and humor. He recalled the support they provide in all his activities whether academic or athletic. Dylan also mentioned the all important aspect of the “goodies” grandmothers are known for cooking! Finally he noted the great example of their strong and happy marriage.

Next on the agenda the choir sang three spirituals, Sing Out, If I have my Ticket Lord, and The Lord Bless You and Keep You. Then the students took their grandparents on a tour of the school and returned to the Student Union for cookies. At 8:30 the evening concluded with Night prayer.
