Sixteen
Honored by College Board
Sixteen students at Mount Michael Benedictine School
have been named AP Scholars by the College Board in
recognition of their exceptional achievement on the
college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations.
The College Board’s Advanced Placement Programs
offer students the opportunity to take challenging college-level
courses while still in high school, and to receive college
credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance
on the AP Exams. Each year, the College Board serves
seven million students and their parents, 23,000 high
school, and 3,500 colleges through major programs and
services in college admissions, guidance, assessment,
financial aid, enrollment and teaching and learning.
The
College Board recognizes several levels of achievement – the
AP Scholar, the AP Scholar with Honors and the AP Scholar
with Distinction.
Paul Farnya, Evan Freilich, Matthew Goldsmith, Jeffrey Kucirek
and Sam Weitkemper qualified for the AP Scholar with
Distinction Award. These young men earned a grade 5 or 4 on at least
on five or six of the AP Exams taken.
Michael
Gibilisco, Yifan Li, Aaron Lockee, Greg Sullivan and Mason
Tye qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award. They
earned grades of 3, 4, and 5 on three or
four of the AP Exams taken.
Timothy Agnew, Kyle Buschelman, Timothy Huss, Grant Mathey,
Timothy Prost and Bryan Vovk qualified for the AP
Scholar Award. They earned a grade of 3 or higher in 3 or more AP
Exams taken.
On behalf of the Advanced Placement Program and all of the
Mount Michael Benedictine Community, we congratulate these
young men on their fine achievements.
