Summer
Brings changes to the Mount
Besides the pleasant break from the classroom routine that
marks summer vacations, it also frequently marks a time for
changes and renovations for the school. This summer is no
different.
Among
the changes is the addition of air conditioning to the
kitchen and the dining rooms. These areas were selected
for air conditioning because they are two areas that are
used year-around. Window air conditioners are also being
added to the classrooms that were without.
After
Camp St. John concludes at the end of July a flurry of
activity will take place to put new carpet in the student
union and freshman dorm. In the gymnasium the old bleachers
are being removed and replaced with contiguous bleachers
that will not have “section” breaks. This should
give the gym a facelift and add more capacity.
Less
glamorous than other renovations but certainly important
is a new water heater for the school.
Last
among the renovations is the addition of more computers
& projectors in the classrooms.
Come
the middle of August everything should be ready to welcome
back the faculty and students to an upgraded and improved
Mount.
