Replacing Dying Trees

SLIDE SHOW of PLANTING

In the Late 1970's & and the early 1980's hundreds of trees were planted at the Mount changing what was a wide open & windy campus into a beautiful tree filled park land. Unfortunately many of those trees were Scotch Pines which are dying from a disease carried by a beetle that is predicted to become as wide spread and devastating to Pine trees as the Dutch Elm disease that wiped out much of the regions elm trees in the 1960's and 1970's.

To replace the dying trees the Mount has started replanting the grounds with some Blue Spruce. This years senior class recently assisted with this reforestation project.
